Review: Suesh Makeup Brushes (Part II: Eye & Lip Brushes)

So this is Part 2 of the Suesh Makeup Brushes review. You can read Part 1 (Face brushes) here. I'd like to repeat that these brushes were bought individually and not as a part of a set.
I don't wear much eyeshadow on a regular basis so this is going to be a pretty short post. Once again, I purchased these brushes online from Suesh.

L to R: Large Eyeshadow Brush, Medium Eyeshadow Brush, Crease Brush, Smudge Brush, Flat Eyeliner Brush, Brow Comb, Brow Brush, Mascara Brush

  • Medium Eyeshadow Brush
This is a good brush for shadow application. However, the hairs prick my lids a little but not to the point that it would feel super scratchy. I'd just feel a little prick from time to time, but I don't mind all that much since I don't use this brush to blend; only to apply.

  • Large Eyeshadow Brush
Good size of the brush head to apply a wash all over the lids. Just like the medium eyeshadow brush, it isn't the softest brush. Little prickly at times, but not extremely scratchy either.

  • Crease Brush
Brush meant to define the crease. Personally, I find the brush head a little too small and thin. I'd prefer a fluffier crease brush so that the result would look more natural and it would be easier to blend out, but this would be a good brush if you need a really obvious and defined crease.

  • Smudge Brush
This is your typical smudge brush. Very fluffy, soft hairs, and great to use for smokey eye looks. I think this is thicker and fluffier than the MAC 214 (Short Shader Brush).

  • Flat Eyeliner Brush
I bought this brush before I ever figured out how easier it was to use angled eyeliner brushes. Angled brushes are just so much easier to use to line the upper lashline. However, Suesh doesn't sell those individually. I've used this brush with gel liner and it was pretty good. I love the thinness and softness of the hairs, and it's not too soft either, which is a good thing. It has just the right stiffness to line the eyes properly. While I wouldn't be using this anymore to line my upper lashline since I prefer my MAC 266, I do find it useful for lining the lower lashline instead.

  • Brow Brush
I was a bit skeptical about this brush at first since I initially thought it was too thick and fluffy to be used on the brows. I thought it wasn't thin enough and wouldn't be able to create really defined brows, but surprisingly, I didn't have any problems with it! It's very easy to use, has just the proper stiffness to fill in the brows, and while I still prefer using pencils for my brows, I love having this around as an alternative.

  • Brow Comb
I like using the brush end to brush my brows in place after I've defined it with pencil/powder/wax. Not only does it groom the brow hairs in place, but it also blends the color in with the brows, giving it a more natural look. I've barely used the comb end though since I never really found it useful for my lashes. For my lashes, I use my mascara brush instead.

  • Mascara Brush
This brush is very useful when my mascara gets a little too clumpy on my lashes and when I'm afraid of adding even more mascara on them. It evens out the mascara and helps separate the lashes. I also love that it's reusable! (I wash it once a week.)

  • Lip Brush
I don't really have a lot of lip brushes to compare this one with, but I'm really loving this brush. It's another one of my favorite Suesh brushes. It makes the application of lip products very easy and I really love that it's got a cap so you can put it in your makeup kit without worrying about it getting dirty.

So that's it for the review! I know some people are skeptical about the Suesh brushes but honestly, I haven't found brushes with the same price range that are as good as these. I'm not sure about the Suesh brush sets though, I haven't tried any of those out, so I'm not sure if they have the same quality as the individual brushes. I would recommend these individual brushes for those who aren't sure if they're willing to spend a whole lot of money for high-end brushes or if they're just starting to collect makeup brushes. Some of these brushes are actually really great for their price, while some others are not worth the money at all. It was hit-and-miss for me, so I hope this review was able to help any of you interested in trying out Suesh brushes.

  2. I agree with your comments. they're not the best, but I find that these perform better than the charm pro travel set that I just bought. I'm glad i did not buy the meant-for-foundation brushes given your review. for a stippling brush, I find that the etude house one works really well given that it costs less than 500 pesos.
